ExCeL London
When size is really important then ExCeL London is the perfect choice, but it offers much more than enormous space. This venue also benefits from a truly stunning dockside location and is very well linked to the capital’s finance, entertainment and culture centres.
Tell me more
London’s dockside has always been a source of some kind of industry for our capital city. Still home to thriving businesses, the area has undergone regeneration too, with innovative new housing making an impact on the skyline. In addition to providing a historic location for new homeowners, Royal Victoria Dock has also seen development of its travel links to the Greenwich Peninsula and extension of the Docklands Light Railway makes daily commutes and getting to London City Airport a breeze.
Perfectly located
It’s only natural that this makes a fantastic destination for a venue that offers some of the largest flexible space in the UK! These are just some of the amazing advantages that come with choosing ExCeL London for your event.
- A huge flexible location comprising 100,000 sq metres of space
- Includes the only International Convention Centre in the capital
- Hosts major award winning events, as well as smaller functions
- Purpose-built venue offering pillar-free halls for very big occasions
- A fantastic choice for corporate events and personal parties too
- Superb travel links that offer swift access to the city and beyond
Impressive dockside views
Rising from the Royal Victoria Dock is a venue that guests can’t help but be impressed by. Part of this is the beautiful location, set so near to the Thames and the historic Docklands.
It’s very easy to catch a glimpse of the industrial heritage that brought jobs, money and more to the surrounding city. But this isn’t only an area that harks back to our past, it also celebrates the present and looks very much to the future too. This is clear from the very appearance of this venue, which, although it is staggeringly huge, also complements the skyline with it’s modern angles.
Pillar-free space that’s all yours
It might be hard to believe, but underneath that stretching exterior, there’s not only 87,328 square metres of space in the Event Halls, but there’s also the massive International Convention Centre (ICC), which blends so well into the surrounding structure. If you require more than the 87,328 square metres of space then you only need to look to the ICC London!
Joined together the vast halls and the many large and smaller rooms featured in the adjacent ICC mean you can create the ideal environment for all of your events, from huge exhibitions that open its doors to thousands and thousands of guests, to those smaller, intimate meetings, weddings and parties.
Host to award-winning exhibitions
This is a very versatile and flexible venue, attracting some extremely well known occasions, such as Grand Designs Live, Clothes Show London, the London ExCeL Wedding Show and the Telegraph Cruise Show. What many of these and similar occasions require is simple: unbranded space.
With these kinds of venues you can really make your mark on the occasion, putting up advertising, banners, posters and much more to reflect the functions. Another favoured benefit is that much of the room in the Event Hall’s is pillar free - 87,328 square metres to be exact. This is fantastic for many different occasions, from large award ceremonies, galas, music performances, and conferences.
We deliver to the ExCeL
In the past, we’ve helped make sure our clients who have booked events at the centre have all the hire furniture they need. These include thousands and thousands of stacking chairs for conferences, as well as folding exam desks for large scale assessments. We have large stock holdings of our items, so when you need to ‘go large’ and expect exceptionally large visitor numbers, then just give us a call!
Fancy your own dockside terrace?
Although it fits in with the surrounding landscape, ExCeL London definitely has it’s own personality too. Where else can you hire rooms that have a private terrace looking towards the docks, the O2 and the finance centre that is Canary Wharf? The brilliance of this venue, is that it offers all those little touches that you might not expect from such a large building that offers a huge amount of ‘blank canvas’ space.
Facilities worthy of an international centre
In addition to offering a massive amount of pillar-free space, this destination also features the largest auditorium in the UK, according to the venue. The ICC Auditorium is just what a venue needs when it wins a title like International Convention Centre.
With hi-tech facilities and flexible seating for up to 5,000 delegates then this is the perfect place to hold these functions - your delegates get both ultra-modern facilities, service and comfort. A further 17 individual meeting rooms for up to 1,200 guests can be booked at the ICC Capital Suite, which boast natural daylight and private dockside terraces for those impressive views.
Banquets to impress
When you’d like to treat guests to an exquisite banquet, then the ICC Capital Hall seats 3,000 for a formal dinner, or other functions, such as award ceremonies, dinners and lots of other occasions. We’re very experienced in delivering and setting up banqueting tables and chairs to these functions, and have both round and rectangular tables available, as well as a range of seating that make excellent choice for up-market dining events.
On three levels the stunning Platinum Suite is favoured for sophisticated occasions, like weddings, while the ICC London Suite and the Gallery Rooms can host up to 400 delegates each, with the latter featuring floor to ceiling windows and an amazing view across the capital’s skyline.
