Team Enjoy ‘Unique’ Jamie Cullum Concert

An exclusive performance by Jamie Cullum saw 80 of our black stacking chairs being provided for the event. Held at Yahama Music London, just 100 people were able to buy tickets for the occasion, which featured our comfy and stylish seating.

Seating for Centrepoint

Still fresh from sleeping rough for a Centrepoint event, some of our team were lucky enough to attend another function arranged by the charity, which featured a performance by platinum-selling musician Jamie Cullum with guests sitting on our black stacking chairs.

Musician returns for charity performance

Playing in the piano hall at Yamaha Music London the jazz singer and performer returned to this venue to once again show his support for Centrepoint. The national organisation works hard to highlight youth homelessness and also provides assistance in a variety of ways, such as by finding housing, offering training and caring for their health needs.

Each year our FurnitureHireUK.com team also back the aims of the organisation by taking part in its events, including the Sleep Out. This took place in November and saw us sleeping rough in London as part of the event. After waking in the chilly dawn we headed straight to the office to gain understanding of how difficult it can be to work after trying to sleep outside.

Fundraising for youth homelessness

Lots of celebrities regularly take part in Centrepoint fundraising functions, with singer Sonique, and presenters Ben Fogle, Lisa Maxwell and Christopher Biggins joining in with the Sleep Out this year. Jamie Cullum is another well known celebrity who supports the work of Centrepoint by performing in intimate shows for just 100 people, raising donations through ticket sales. This is the second time the artist has appeared at the location in aid of the charity.

‘Really unique’ gig

Formerly known as Chappell of Bond Street, the Yahama Music London Grade II listed building houses a retail area for musical equipment and accessories, as well as a display area that is also used as a concert hall and venue. We provided 80 black stacking chairs as seating for this exclusive occasion, which we were delighted to attend as well.

Our team very much enjoyed seeing Jamie Cullum performing live, describing the occasion as “really unique”. Thanks to the smaller venue the audience got to see the musician performing up-close and he interacted with the crowd creating an informal feel to the occasion.

Award winning artist

The artist is no stranger to the limelight and has built up a very strong reputation as a talented musician known across the world. First recording an album at only 19 years old, by his third album - Twentysomething - the singer was signed with Universal. Since then, Jamie has continued to record and release award winning tracks, with his sixth album launching this year and entitled Momentum.

He’s attracted a host of awards and accolades including 2013’s UK Jazz Artist Of The Year and the Golden Globe Award For Best Original Song for Gran Torino, which involved him working with Clint Eastwood. Our team were excited at seeing this amazing performer show the depth of the skills, and we were pleased that our furniture went some way in helping the charity cuts its costs.

Concert conference seating

Our black stacking chairs are some of the most comfortable and affordable seats that we stock. They offer a great combination of a cushioned seat and lumbar support, making them very comfy to sit on, so all guests to shows, conferences, seminars and much more can really enjoy occasions. The black chair and polished chrome frame looks great in lots of different venues, from intimate concert halls to huge conference venues, and we also have them in blue.

Being affordable, they suit smaller budgets, but when our customers require lots of products our deals mean that the price of each seat drops as the size of orders increase. On this occasion, we provided our chairs for Centrepoint and aim to support this charity as much as we can for its future events.
