The Connection Charity Dinner

The Connection Charity Dinner

October 2009 saw the first ever Connection at St Martins charity dinner take place. The total amount raised for the evening was over £120k, which is a phenomenal amount. Daniel Smith, Managing Director, attended this memorable evening on behalf of Furniture Hire UK and personally raised £2250 towards the charity. Daniel Smith works very closely with a number of charitable organisations. He not only takes the time to personally talk to the charities team members but also to those, who sadly find themselves walking through the door. Mr Smith donates hundreds of pieces of furniture as well as members of his own team to assist with charity events. The Connection at St Martins provides specialist services for homeless people including a day and night centre, outreach for rough sleepers, skills training and career advice, activity programmes and specialist support for complex needs. The organisation aids over 200 people in Central London every single day. They not only offer valuable advice, care and support, they encourage each person to address the issues which caused their homelessness within a welcoming and friendly environment. The Connection aims to support individuals and help them gain the confidence and skills to make lasting changes in their lives. It is the kind support and generosity of those around us, such as Daniel Smith which enable so many charitable organisations to improve the services and facilities they offer as well as the centres themselves.
