Helping Jamie Cullum help the homeless

One of the UK's leading furniture hire suppliers, Furniture Hire UK, made sure everyone enjoyed a comfortable and memorable charity concert on December 1st in the heart of Soho with the multi-talented jazz superstar, Jamie Cullum, by supplying the chairs. Jamie was playing to an audience of about 120 to celebrate exactly 200 years of trading for the world-renowned music store, Chappell of Bond Street and at the same time raising money for Centrepoint, the leading charity for the young homeless in London. Chappell, who have recently moved to Wardour Street, have raised more than £12,000 for Centrepoint in a series of concerts. Furniture Hire UK has been a supporter of Centrepoint for several years – most recently providing the use of transport and staff to help the Centrepoint Sleep Out in the City last month (November 10th). More than a quarter of a million pounds was raised to give young homeless people a future. It attracted over 700 participants and many high profile celebrities. Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge is patron of the charity. Daniel Smith was the youngest ever star of the Channel Four programme, the Secret Millionaire, in which he spent 10 days on the streets of London. Since that time, he has donated much of his own money to various homeless charities, particularly Centrepoint.  But perhaps more importantly, he has used the long experience and wide array of equipment Furniture Hire UK has to make charity money-raising events like the Jamie Cullum concert more successful – and comfortable.
